The “Zillertal Arena” offers a wide range of ski tour offers around Gerlos. It doesn’t matter, whether you are a beginner or a professional, Gerlos is the insider tip for interesting and demanding ski tour rotes starting from altitudes of 1200 m, right through to the glacial region with the 3000 m peaks.
Before participating in a ski tour, don’t forget to check the local weather reports at www.lawine.at as well as information on the avalanche situation at the local ski schools.
Tour tips:
- Arbiskogel (2.048 m)
- Kirchspitze (2.312 m)
Due to the closure of the „Fürstalm” in winter 2006, this has opened up a whole new paradise for winter sports fans. The ascent, as well as the descent into the valley on the former ski pistes guarantee a virtual avalanche-free, north-facing slopes, which can usually be used right through until late spring. Ideal for beginners.
Base: Car park at the valley station of the Fürstalm double chair lift (closed in winter).
Ascent: Cross the wooden bridge along the forest slope to the mountain station (1800 m). From here, continue along a flat path, where the slopes meet at the Almboden. Continue left to the Arbiskogel (2048 m), carry on straight ahead for the Kirchspitze (2312 m).
